Thank You from Above All Else

We have many, many people to thank for helping make Above All Else possible. These individuals and organizations provided assistance big and small--sometimes at critical points, in other cases offering the kind of steady support over weeks and months that keeps an indie project pushing forward. Between now and our premiere on March 10 we will use this space to thank our legion of helpers, adding to the list each day.

Thank you to:

  • Austin Film Society,
  • Princess Grace Foundation,
  • Holland Photo Imaging,
  • MPS Studios,
  • Rural Rooster,
  • Rainforest Action Network,
  • Greenpeace Canada, and
  • Sierra Club

South by Southwest, Here We Come!

That's right, Above All Nation! The film will have its World Premiere at South by Southwest, aka SXSW, in March of this year. We couldn't be more pleased. SXSW is a great festival and extremely competitive. We should have three screenings (dates TBA) and these will be a great launch into our festival tour and outreach campaign to follow.

Please check out our page at the SXSW website, and our new trailer, up at our home page. Please stay tuned and come support us at SXSW if you can, and stay tuned for opportunities to invite us to your home town!

You can really help us out TODAY by "liking" our page at SXSW, sharing our trailer and news wherever you can, and, as always, we are dependent on the generosity of our crowd-funding supporters to help us get this movie done. Yes, our Donate page is still live!

Thanks for all of your help,

The Above All Else team

Happy 2014!

Happy New Year! What a year this has been for Above All Else. From the amazing, successful Kickstarter campaign, through a summer of additional shooting and editing, to our current work to finish the film, it has been a whirlwind year.

We completed a rough-cut on schedule in September and were tremendously honored to receive a $9,000 Austin Film Society grant to help complete the movie.

Through this fall and winter we have continued to work on our fine cut. We are excited to announce that we will wrap up editing by the end of January and will be ready to move on to the final finishing stages. We can still use your help. We are taking donations to pay for archival footage and music and our donation remains live on the main website.

As always, you can "like" our page on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter (@fiegefilms) for regular updates.

All best,

The Above All Else team

John's Huffington Post article on "How the Keystone XL Pipeline Has Become Too Big to Approve" is mentioned in today's The Atlantic '5 Best Monday Columns' along with another Keystone XL piece by The New Yorker's great Elizabeth Kolbert. What better company can you have?

You are AMAZING!

We have 24 HOURS LEFT, and we still need your help. We are so thrilled that our Kickstarter goal will allow us to start editing the film, but we still need to raise more money to finish the film and get it out into the world. Additional donations above our goal will go toward these and other expenses:

- Editing the film more quickly!
- Music
- Archival footage
- Finishing costs
- Website design and development
- Further development of an extensive outreach and educational campaign that will take the film to schools, places of worship and community centers across the continent

It has been absolutely wonderful to see the outpouring of encouragement, support and love over the past month. It's time to make this film and show it to the world as soon as possible!

Thank you all so much for everything! We love you!
